Home Theater
A Home theater is a home entertainment system that includes both electronic video and audio equipment. Some systems may incorporate surround sound, gaming consoles, media center computers and multi room control systems.
LED
Acronym for Light Emitting Diode. Used for backlighting in LCD televisions
LCD
Acronym for Liquid Crystal Display

Stereo
When applied to sound, it refers to 2-channel audio in which one channel is dedicated to the left and the other channel to the right
Structured Wiring
A planned cabling system in which video, audio, voice and data information can be managed for home theaters, computers, multi-room video, phone and other telecommunication devices.
Surround Sound
Audio system that generally includes 5 speakers (L,R, Center, LF, LR) and a subwoofer (5.1 surround sound) but may be made up of other speaker configurations such as 7.1 or more. The audio signal for surround sound systems must be made up of at least 6 discrete channels of sound. Usually accompanies a video system.
